Prof. Michalis Xenos

Professor Michalis Xenos is tenured professor at Computer Engineering and Informatics Department of University of Patras. Before, he worked in Hellenic Open University, where was the founder of the Software Quality Research Group, the Director of the Software Quality Laboratory and the Director of the Internal Quality Assessment Unit. He has participated in over 50 research and development projects in the area of software engineering, software quality, human-computer interaction, and educational technologies. He serves as reviewer and evaluator of EU projects in various calls. His current research interests include, inter alia, Software Quality, Human-Computer Interaction, Human-Robot Interaction, and Educational Technologies. He has authored or co-authored 8 books and over 180 papers in international journals and conferences, that have received over 2,500 citations (h-index=23, i10-index=48). He has given 4 keynote speeches in International Conferences.


Dr. Maria Rigou

Dr. Rigou holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering and Informatics (1997, University of Patras, School of Engineering), an MSc in Computer Science (2000, thesis: Interactive Systems Evaluation), a PhD in Computer Science (2005, dissertation: Effective Algorithms for Web Personalization based on Web Mining), as well as a Master in Arts “Graphic Arts-Multimedia” (2011, Hellenic Open University, School of Humanitarian Studies, thesis: Learning and Entertainment by Casual Gaming). Currently she is a lecturer (for laboratory courses) at the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department (University of Patras) and a tutor at the Hellenic Open University (Postgraduate Programme in Information Systems). The last 15 years she has participated in the design, development and technical management of national and international R&D IT projects and has published research in journals, books and conference proceedings.


Andreas Mallas

Andreas Mallas is a PhD candidate at the Computer Engineering & Informatics Department of the University of Patras. He graduated from the Department of Mathematics of the University of Patras and holds a Master’s degree in Computer science and engineering at the Computer Engineering & Informatics Department of the University of Patras. He designed and developed Diagram⊷atic an environment used to gamify the in-classroom activity of designing diagrams during a lecture.


Marianna Stamati

Marianna Stamati has a degree in Management & Economics, majoring in Business Administration (Marketing – Management). With over 17 years of experience as an administrative staff member in the Educational Content, Methodologies & Technologies Lab (e-Comet Lab) at Hellenic Open University, she was responsible for a variety of tasks related to the coordination, organization, and management of (e-Comet Lab) actions. She was in charge (from 20/05/2011 till 31/03/2023) of the Department of Finance Administrative & Technical Services of the e-COMET lab of Hellenic Open University. Marianna’s professional background includes extensive involvement in a number of European Programs (including Minerva, Socrates/Lingua, LLP – KA3, Erasmus+ KA2, Erasmus+ KA3, CS4HS Google, and Interreg V-A) and National Programs as well, in field of Project Management and Financial Issues. 


Semira Maria Evangelou

Mrs. Semira Maria Evangelou holds a diploma (5 years Engineering degree with an Integrated M.Sc.) from the department of Computer Engineering & Informatics from the University of Patras. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate of the University of Patras. Her research interests are mainly focused on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). She is experienced in Usability Evaluation of Interactive Systems.


Dimosthenis Minas

Dimosthenis Minas is a PhD candidate in the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics from the University of Patras. He graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics of the University of Patras (2022). He has worked as software engineer – web developer in the private sector (2021-2022). His current research interests include Human Computer Interaction and Advanced Information Systems.


Eleftheria Lito Michanetzi

Eleftheria Lito Michanetzi is an Undergraduate student in the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics at the University of Patras. Her master’s thesis was focused on human reactions to negative commenting with the use of physiological sensors. She is interested in Human-Computer Interaction and mainly in the use of sensors.


Angelos Fotopoulos

Angelos Fotopoulos is a PhD candidate at the Computer Engineering & Informatics Department of the University of Patras. He graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering & Informatics of the University of Patras in 2021. Following his graduation, he gained industry experience as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer in the private sector from 2021 to 2023. His research interests primarily lie in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and the Metaverse.
